KJV - PSALMS 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

What's New

How can God forgive someone like me?

There are people who have committed apostasy - they have walked away form Christ to find heaven through a different religion. They start to believe that they can get to heaven through some other means then Jesus.

This is not blaspheming the Holy Spirit, but many will teach that this is unforgivable. I, personally, do not believe that. But I do believe that once someone has gone that way it is very hard for them to come back. I have seen some in that state and their number 1 reason for not coming back is because "God won't forgive me for this".

Too many times people won't come to God, or back to God, because they "know" that God can't or won't forgive them for the sins of their lives. I Timothy 2:5 - 6 says

5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people.

In other words, Jesus died for all people.

I John 2:2
2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Jesus paid for our sins. He paid the price for ALL sins.

Paul - who used to go by Saul - called himself the greatest (of chief) sinner (I Timothy 1:15). He stated that because he knew how many Christians he persecuted, sent to jail or caused them to be killed. He had Christ's servants' blood on his hands. He did it in the name of God. I can't even imagine the shame he felt when he saw Jesus face to face when he was on the road to Damascus. Yet God forgave him.

Jesus tells us that only Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is unforgivable (Mark 3:29 ).

Jesus was responding to those who claimed he was performing miracles by the chief demon. By denying that the power and healing were coming from God through the Holy Spirit they were blaspheming the Spirit.
